So maybe it's not fair
When a baby bird falls
To the ground because
Its mother flew away.
So maybe it's not fair
When a father is convicted
Because he stole some bread
To feed a starving orphan.
So maybe it's not fair
When half the world
Lives on next to nothing,
And the other doesn't.
"So what?" said all the people.
"We don't care. It's just
The way things are.
Life's not fair."
And then they turn back
To the television and the
Computers and the iPods
And. They. For. Get.
They forget that life is precious.
That all life is precious.
Rich or not.
Don't forget.
We're all human.
